My friend Stuart wanted to invade France once. He had it all planned out - we were going to go to Calais, erect a large Union Jack on the beach, claim it as British soil, and play a game of cricket. But we never got round to it in the end.

I have great respect for the hands-on style of monarchy where royalty are actually prepared to get their hands dirty. Our Queen is shit, she needs to go round tooled up and chop off heads on a regular basis. Old Saddam was known to have personally offed a wide variety of his opponents, and while I don't generally opressive dictatorships I do admire his commitment to the role.
