The "old" geezer never existed except in all your imaginations. He's the same as he ever was. Only difference is you've learnt how to "take" him. Those of us who knew him already see no difference in his behaviour between then and now. All those who recently met him are the ones who have changed their perception of him, not him changing into mr nice guy.
