Mike Hunt, an internet guru, works on the 35th floor of an office tower.

Most mornings Mike will ride the lift as far as the 25th floor, then climb the stairs to the 35th.

On mornings when it's raining however, he will always ride the lift to the 35th floor.

Since Mike Hunt is neither fond of exercise or superstitious, what could be the reason for his strange behaviour??

he's a midget. when it's raining he carries an umbrella, which allows him to reach the 35th floor button, while without he can only reach up to the 25th floor one.

he had his umbrella which he used to push the (presumably) higher 35th
floor button.
