View Full Version : Buying cigarettes online?
I've just come across one of those online cigarette shops and i was astounded by how cheap they are but i wondered, if i was to buy fags from an online cig shop will i be getting the real make of a phony brand made up of floor sweepings?
Anyone buy their fags online?

As you can tell from my nick, this is something I did a lot of research on.
The ciggies should be kosher. However, as it is illegal to import cigarettes by mail, Customs & Excise will seize them if they realize what they are.
Usually they get through OK, but if you are planning on doing it regularly, they will get seized from time to time.

British Customs & Excise are *complete* bastards.
Once my friend in Prague ordered a bunch of porn DVD's from the US. So - just to clarify - they were coming straight from the US to the Czech Republic - two countries where porn is legal.
Unfortunately, the mail went via international flight from the US to Heathrow where it was should have been put on another plane to Prague.
As the package touched down in the UK for a few hours, Customs & Excise decided to take a look, didn't like them as they were illegal under UK law so burned them all. I just couldn't believe that they had the right to tamper with mail going from one foreign country to another.
Cunts.

There's nothing sacred about international mail, unless it's in a diplomatic bag. A sovereign state should have the right to examine whatever ends up on its soil, be it letters, parcels, containers and even people.

I pay 15 euros (about a tenner) for 200 fags, can get cheaper (from 4 euros for 200) but that's what my brand cost. i think mine are about £50 for 200 in the UK now.
When I first moved here we used to send 200 every other week back home to friends etc but after a while every pack was getting stopped and confiscated so we stopped doing it.
Hi
I bought quite a few online some time ago
They started off getting through but then they kept getting seized and I had to pay the import tax on them (which made them about the same or slightly more than you would get in this country)

I agree with the 'on its soil' bit, but I thought that the airside part of an airport is supposed to be considered international territory.
