What's your thinking with posting every hosted gallery a program supplies you with in one go?
Would you like yours posted like that?

These aren't mine but I've seen this happen time and time again, not just on the BGAFD.
DVTimes & thinking are two words you dont often hear together :)
If I could think of a way of explaining it clearly enough to affiliates, so that the ones dumb enough to do this wouldn't, and the rest wouldn't be put off or offended, then I'd add it to my affiliate terms and conditons.
Theres a constant stream of posts about the responsibilties of program owners and all the things they should do, but its a two way street, some affs really need a bunch of rules to work by as they just won't enage their brains and THINK!
I'm coming around to thinking that a clear set of rules is the only way. The good/smart affs won't mind as they'll be able to see it benefits them as much as it does me. Not having to compete with all those 400 gallery link lists has got to be a good thing. The not so great ones will either have to change or leave.

Mine was by application only then I opened it up but I think I will be closing it again. I give fuck all away really, a few FHG's thats it, in the affiliate area I mean. If an affiliate is making an effort and asks for content I will supply it.
I had someone contact me by ICQ a while back and ask for stacks of content, he wasn't even an affiliate, he said if I could give him a load of content he would sign up. I told him to start seding traffic then I'll sort something out, he got all shitty and left :geezer:

I think closed programmes is the way forward, unless there is some sort of prize for how many affiliates you can get.

Ya some affs get the sooks up because they can't access all the promo area within 2mins of signing up to the program. Only in this business would something like this ever happen. :)

put it this way, many of youpost on these tgp thingys such as the hun. millions of hits but low sighn ups.
i get sales on much lower trafic.

Sorry. You put it a bit better than I did. Why any affiliate would slap up 50 (or more) FHGs is well beyond me. 'Too much free porn' and affs doing this is just one of my gripes. No affiliates understand what 'the trickle effect' means anymore?

This guy always comes top of the list in affiliate contests and is reported to have better ratios than nearly everyone else, and many affiliate programs fawn over him. He only lists fhg's and no custom galleries. Makes you wonder.

i was always lead to belive it was a bad thing as its giving away all the goodies for free. the way i see it, a surfer has three options on getting the porn from the site they are after, they can pay for it, search for it or have it given to them.
if they seach but cannot find what they want then they pay for it but when you have all the FHGs listed in one place then they dont have to pay or search. of cause this isnt a problem if there are only a few FHGs but if you list too many then why bother joining?

Any publicity is good publicity i guess.
I don't know if its right or wrong tbh. Someone like Juggcash launched into the market with about 1000 FHG's and it hasn't done them any harm (and they couldn't give a crap where people put them) Other people do it differently.

I was going to mention sologals as well - see the databases that run tiava } all its spin offs must pretty much contain every FHG on the net. To the best of my knowledge tiava is one of the most well known, forward thinking adult sites out there (first big site to offer a special wii browser version of their site for example) and I bet his sales pretty much dwarf 90% of regular affils, so yeah maybe randomly dishing out every fhg you see in the hope of getting one sale is daft, spun from a different angle it can be a gold mine.
