Which is best for SE's?...

I want to set up a bunch of blogs on one domain but which is best...

niche.domain.com or,
domain.com/niche/

As far as SE's is concerned?

do you want them to be seen as seperate sites or as part of the whole?

SE wise I've never seen much difference.

So the general "rule" is.. a directory is a part of the original sites. A subdomain is an entirely stand alone site.

niche.domain.com works best for me, since "niche" is nearer the front of the domain then google takes more note of it.

I've no proof of this, just personal observation.

i can confirm wankmasters observation is correct, Google gives more priority to the words closer to the front of the scentence so whatever keywords are most important to you put them there!

unless your making a small number, or unless you can make subdomains quickly, i have read this makes so little difference to SE's that its best to just use the quickest method - if your doing this BH anyways!
