I have just got back from my PO box which I use to get all my voucher copies of adult mags sent to for my phone sex ads & various US $$ cheques. Last time I went the new person on the counter couldn't find my mail.

This time only a few envelopes but missing cheques. Asked where were my cheques? They said they had returned all my friggin post back to sender & had been doing this for a while. Why?? Apparently because they just felt like it.

Rang up to complain when I got back & was told it's at the sorting office's discretion what they do & tough shit. Contacted everyone that has allegedly had post returned to them & guess what none of it has arrived although the PO said they started doing this in April.

I am not a happy bunny!

that sucks..
If you pay a few quid extra they'll just re-direct the mail from the po box on
that's what we do and we've never had a problem..
plus it was a pain in the arse checking the box all the time :ninja:

The post office is a real pain to deal with and lodge any kind of complaint. We have a redirection from our old house and they still insist on delivering it there i keep complaining and they keep sending me a book of six stamps.

I was told when I moved house at 9 months pregnant ( that was wise!?) I could keep a PO box in Leeds & carry on collecting the mail. The PO Complaints Dept say this isn't true & I should have known this. Being psychic hasn't been added to my skills yet!

My home redirection they did even better cashed the cheque & didn't redirect anything

My advise is not to use a PO Box address as its pointless. If people want your address then all they have to do is contact the royal mail and they will give out the address.

Whilst that is true what address would you suggest I give on ads to comply with ICSTIS rules as I am now looking at alternatives to the PO box not surprisingly!!

I do not really wish to give my home address as this ends up with stalkers contacting you but thought the PO box gave an anonymous image to put them off a bit!

With the cost of roal mail ones getting expensive now, it may even be cheaper for you to use a private firm.

I used to use Mail Boxes in Leeds Leeds Mail Boxes (http://www.mbe.uk.com/067/) not sure if its what you are looking for but you could collect also they would send it to you.

I shall check them out thanx!! I don't really want to give Royal Mail the satisfaction of getting more cash out of me for a new PO box now after I've already paid for this one for the year

The post office has a watch of mine which it will not let me collect as its address'd to my nick name. They said they can only deliver the item to the address, but I dont live there.

The final option they gave me was for the sender to go and collect and show the reciep - needless to say this was not possible either.........some postie has a nice watch now :-(

instead of a PO Box, use a virtual office addy with mail forwarding/pick up.

there is a way around this, if you have physical stock,
say it's registered to the address of where you warehouse
your goods then you can ask them to not release your address to all and sundry..

These are quite resonable I use them for a virtual office in the US but they also have them all over Europe Your Office (http://www.youroffice.com/drawmap.cgi?JID=1)
