the most fun I had with hotlinking protection was when I forgot to allow a load of sites so my banners, sig and all sorts weren't displaying (and I had them cached so never noticed) - so make sure you add all the trades etc you can think of, or the protection will over do it!

yeah iv realised that! like my pic of my home town in another thread are not showing now despite inputting BB url in accepted site for images!

I do and have done that in the past, what I do now is have a dedicated domain with no hotlink protection to serve banners from
