View Full Version : Why are women threatened by porn?
Why are women threatened by porn? You read about it every day in the agony aunt papers and in womens magazines. things like "i caught my husband with a porn mag. dosnt he fancy me anymore?"
Why is it? My girlfriend originally thought i was making porn sites just to view porn, it was only when the first cheque arrived that she stopped nagging me! :D
I do have a theory though, i think its because women are able to judge beauty better than men, they can look at Angelina Jolie and instantly see that she is better looking and therefore a threat, while if a man found his wife getting hot over a picture of David Beckham he would be hard pushed to tell if Beckham was better looking than themselves or even David Mellor.

It's to do with jealousy. Simple. Girls hate the fact there guys look at other woman and find them mre attractive.
Stupid women and stupid emotions. We should all have fucking testicles.

is it just that? many women would willingly accept a bloke oggling page three but go mad if they found a membership to a porn site appear on a CC bill.
Do you think its like i said and the woman knows the internet girl is more attractive but if the situation was reversed the man wouldnt see any beauty in the male model?

People are brought up with far too many views that getting naked is wrong.
Watched that new americas next top model. One girl wouldnt do a nude shot, no tits showing, no ass showing, no pink showing...Why a girl like that is in modelling I'll never know.
If youre going to be in the public eye get fricking ready for it..Ok kinda just pulled away from the topic there..

no its cultural...page 3 is 30 years old therefore accepted in ppls heads so it has the 'harmless all guys do it' attitude. The internet however is ' nasty tho full of pervs and porn ' which is true, also the media doesnt help us in that sense...so women have a bad view towards what we do.

A body is a body, we've seen them in mags, we see them in papers dear lord I wish people would get over it.
In saying that I dont like the idea of showing my very private bit lol but boobs are just a pice of tissue slappd onto the front of me...I have no inhibitons about my boobs..or getting tastefully naked! Not all girls are like that though..
I have no problems sharing a room with a guy, sharing a bed with a guy in a non sexual way...Nothing wrong with snuggling up a to a guy mate and cuddling in...It's not sexual at all...I just dont get why all girls dont see this lol
I must be odd

But was that because she thought that getting naked was "wrong" or purely because she didn't want to get naked?

She was a virgin catholic girl or something who thinks her body should be covered up, in modelling it certainly isnt covered up, not the type she was trying for...Americas next top model ! If she cant handle getting classy naked how is she going to feel when papers start printing all her personal shit and tit out pics and upskirt pics...

I'd say that it's more feelings of inadequacy rather than envy. Unless you believe that porn is "wrong"/immoral of course but I think that's less applicable to younger women?

Nope it's still unaccepted between us young folks - guys are fine with it girls aren't! I've never managed to get on with girls my age simply because they think I'm a slut...Just cause I had lots of male friends and enjoy male company...Still the way it is today...

I'd agree with you there. Before I jumped into this industry I was a complete prude. I'd turn the paper over if there was a half naked chick on the front, I was totally against adult channels and top shelf mags and used to get really upset if my ex-bf even glanced at another woman thinking I wasn't good enough. I think as I got older, dumped the twat of a bf, began to realise that this is my body and that no matter how hard I try I'm not going to look like one of the models on the front of FHM, I eased out. Next thing that happens... I'm the one getting naked lol :D

We never talked about the boners lol - it was kinda a silent agreement, I just ignored them and silently giggled...
Mind you this was when I had a lovely size 10-12 toned up body and big boobs - wouldn't be the same reaction today as 3 years ago lol...

see, thats the thing. we are surrounded by porn and it starts to become so everyday that i sometimes find i have to stop myself talking about it in the wrong places, like the queue in tescos or when my grandmother rings. non awm's find working wih porn for a living very, very strange. and i'm sure that almost all male surfers buy their memberships in secret

Having chatted with a few, the one thing that most puts them off signing up is not the cost, but the fear of having to explain the entry on the cc bill to the wife...

i cant say ive ever been a prude really, i was brought up with a very open mother who would answer any question i wanted to know about sex so its never been something i'm embarrassed or ashamed about. The only time i get upset if my other half is watching porn is if hes not sharing lol! The thing with shooting porn though is that now if i see any i just pick fault with it and see all the things that should have been done differently. Me and dave were saying the other day, that if guys buying it could seen the bits before and after we start filming they would be put off for life!
I'm still drooling :p She's mine you know? Me and Brad have an understanding...
Can I watch if she comes over your place?

I can see why some people hate it but its just a fantasy which everyone deserves to have, so if they dont like it they dont have to watch but should leave their partner to enjoy it in my opinion. Its not going to spoil your relationship just because your man likes to look at other girls and wank off, most women know that no matter who a guy is with he will still wank- for the same reason women have vibrators. If a relationship is open and honest you should be able to enjoy that either together or seperately without getting an attack of the green eyed monster. I guess everyone has their own opinions of porn though and i respect that.

I dont get that, I go see a stripper or a table dance in the UK I have to sit on my hands, if i touch or make a comment I two guys that make Geezer look small kick the shite out of you.
Women go see men stripping and act like a they have never seen a willy before, they turn into animals, go figure?

because when girls do it, its just "in fun" but when men do it, they are perverts?

Because, in general, a womans entire existence is based on seeking approval of men. They spend thousands to look good, pretend they are smarter (or dumber) than they really are to attract the opposite sex.
When your entire life is revolved around seeking male approval, as is your self esteem, when that same man gets his needs filled somewhere else (porn), it's a huge blow to their ego.
That doesn't speak for ALL women. There are others that are just lesbians.

You hit it on the head.
I'm not a lesbian and I don't need my ego boosted by men but it does make you feel good when you feel wanted or when you get attention from a man. I think it's an ever growing need women have to prove themselves, and the easiest way for a woman to do that is through sex, regardless of what anyone says...Women can use their sexuality to get what they want and a lot of them do!
I used to do it lol but can't get away with it now hehehe...It's just one of those things...But it stems from the older days where women were treated like dirt under mens shoes - since women are now equals they are also trying to prove themselves to be the better side...
We are mind you but we like to play you guys to think you are all the be all and end all when in turn it's us giving you your own way:gaylords:

Even tho im straight i tend to spend more time and money trying to look good when im surrounded by women and seek approval from them as they are more critical i guess. I wouldnt get jealous of my man looking at porn i think it would be more weird if he DIDNT look at porn lol, but maybe thats just being in the adult industry cos if i wasnt maybe id have a different veiw, my mum and dad didnt show affection at all and we wernt allowed to walk round with nothing on etc and porn was BAAAAAD and dirty. The only time i would get upset is if my bf/partner or whatever wasnt paying any attention to me for days/weeks etc but looking at porn.
men love to have their ego boosted as well, all men love it when a woman tries to chat them up, even if they dont fancy the woman, the ego boost is amazing

Yeah, it's a full-time job. Women I ask about this always justify it by saying that men wouldn't like it if they stopped taking so much care. But I'm sceptical about this. Most guys don't know or care how much effort women put into looking good. The first time you realise anything is when you meet someone cute in a bar and wake up next to a completely different person the next morning, once the make-up's worn off.
Men don't ask women to put in so much hard work into their appearance - they do it to compete with each other. Girls, we'd love you regardless.

Agreed.
I think women should take care of themselves, and look good, but that goes for anyone really, male or female.
Just taken too far sometimes. To be honest..........No I can't tell if your eyelashes are a millimeter longer because you bought the more expensive make up.
Now, if you will lay on your stomach reaching behind your back grabbing on to your high heels while you give me oral...........that, I'll notice, EVERY time.

Thats something i have often thought, that women get dolled up to compete with other women rather than to feel better about themselves or to attract men

Men are afraid of porn, other men etc etc, just as much as women.
You would be supprised if you knew how many prudish men out there live with frustrated wives.
I had a friend who was about as square as it got, we worked in the office. She was very shy and her and her husband didnt do much sexualy. One day I lent her a porn film to spice things up.
It was a brave thing for her to do, she hadnt even seen one before. She was all excited and was looking forward to pleasing her husband. She took the video home and excitedly told him.
He was disgusted and it caused a huge argument, that ended with him sleeping in the spare room :(
Two years later she had an affair with another guy in the office.

Nudity is a strange thing - My parents used to take us to nudist camps when we were growing up and it felt totally natural but then my sister decided to freak out about it and we never went back. Shame really.
...Just realised that my sister's a little bit mad and I've ended up in the porn industry... does that say anything about my upbringing?! ;)
