Anyone else having trouble accessing their stats at Webair ! they changed there stats privacy policy a few days ago and since then every time i attempt to check my stats i get login time out session expired please re-login. I get the same error message after re-logging in

Live tech help say they have no problem accessing my stats from their end and seem to think the fault lies with me ? I can access all other secure servers no problem ! Ccbill and other sites that require cookies etc.. even disabled Norton and tried from my laptop still get the same error

The crazy part is it allows me to login and access all the other features from my control panel like my remote html editor ect.. but not stats all i get back from tech support is hmm that's odd hmm strange all is ok this end

Now into day 3 without stats, I'm like a bear with a sore head

You might have a corrupt cookie, clear out all your temp files, cookies and all the other crap. Restart your browser and try again... might work!

We have one particular server there that gives us constant problems with stats reading low or not reading at all.

Uk Dude thanks but i already tried that and the point being is i get the same error using another PC so clearly this is not a cache or computer privacy issue

SGS yes i too have had many stat problems slow at updating or not updating at all, it got to a point that i removed my credit card details and told them i wasn't willing to pay for a service which they promised to supply. They put me on another server and all has been fine until this happened a few days ago

Cheers Bluey

All my stats are down on Webair on every site. Plus in admin it just goes back to homepage when I try to check stats. :( :(

Yes, and when you are running hosted video galleries getting hundreds of thousands of hits it can be an expensive problem to chase time and time again.

Often stats problems on webair are caused if the ram on your server isnt enough. It just needs to do to much. If you have a dedicated server with 500meg of ram try upgrading it to a gig of ram. Ive done that with a couple of servers with them and it cured it both times

I don't think this is a Ram issue just another case of webair upgrading their system then being laxidasigal in sorting out the fucking mess

Another UK webmaster told me yesterday he kept being redirected back to his homepage he then said they had installed another button that says "check stats here" haven't seen it myself because i just get the login session time out error

Cheers Bluey

Had an ongoing problem with webair and stats for the past 2 months..... also what has been happening is for the time when no stats have been available my bandwidth useage has gone through the roof and resulted in me paying overs....
I've upgrades the ram, and there hasnt been a problem since.... but i do find webair technical dept very arrogant.... below is a response from their accounts dept cause i've questioned the overs charges:

..........Webstats exist for his convenience, not for billing
accountability. Sometimes during high traffic periods it can exhaust the
available memory, and crash. Server should be upgraded to prevent from
happening again.

In order to eliminate any question in the future, I installed a failsafe
bandwidth logging program. It will break down bandwidth per domain name.

Our metering metric for dedicated servers is to monitor the network port,
so all traffic including web, FTP, SSH, etc are accounted for in his
monthly bill.

If he has membership websites, we may reccomend proxypass to protect his
bandwidth from hackers.

Sincerely,

-HF

Exactly the same scenario here. Now chatted with 3 people at Webair - they are very helpful but it seems it is all fine with them and not me.

I am relieved I'm not the only one in a way.

Any luck yet Bluey?

One of our FHG domains was reading more than 300,000 hits down yesterday (again) and we don't have the time to keep chasing the problem up. We have boxes at several other hosts that just don't get these annoying problems so it looks like its time to start moving stuff over.

On another note Nat-Net and ISPrime are *excellent* in all departments.

Fuck me I'm getting somewhere ! just had this email from webair tech

Hello,

I had a talk with my manager about this. This is what he had to say...
----
Will,

Password protect his stat dirs, he can then view them directly
using those logins/pass. I believe this is not working for him because his
ISP is using a proxy server.
----

So, i password protected all your stats. You can now go to
www.kinkysilk.com/stats. This will ask you for a username and password.
Use the following...

username: XXXXXXX
password: XXXXX

Let me know if this doesn't work for you. I tested it and it worked for me.

"All of my sites are now working - one is pass protected it seems."

Yeah its still shit ! its a ball-ache to access my stats i have to type in each URL string, I add sites often so i guess i have to go through webair tech to get each domain password protected. Some how i feel the burden has been put on me for their upgrade

Clearly its time to move on, The uptime has been great but I'm forever complaining about stat problems without that fault they have been great no other issues at all

An Adult Webmaster without stats is like having no arms

All the best Bluey

I remember seeing somewhere a security hole on sites that allowed stats to be viewed on a non protected page. Yes it's a ball ache having to login to see yor stats but its better to do that than have your site compromised.

btw - my Webair stats have been fine...

Well i now have access to my stats its just a shame they haven't updated since the 12aug, Webair stats are the pits
