Ok I am just adding up my costs so i can file them with the accountant. All in all they are on par with when ever I am out and about however I have a massive bill totaling £62.50!!!!!!!!!!!
This bill is the cost of parking and riding into our lovely capital city, included in these fees are
£30 in train fares to get from Luton > London & back
(I can travel from Hull to London & Back again for this price)
The shocker though are the underground tickets a shocking £4 per ticket to travel one stop! I had two of these between KX & Euston.
The rest is made up of parking fees.
I am totally shocked at this - no wonder people still drive into London, I have to stress they are taking the piss with £4 for one stop on the tube, and I had to stand, with the taxi's being robbing cunts too (though I got a refund after raising a complaint)
It may be grim up North but its all this bollox that makes me happy to get back here away from all the stealth taxes in place in the capital.

LOL Kings Cross to Euston is about a 2 minute walk. It takes longer to walk to the platforms and from the platforms than it does to walk to the next station

Cash fares are artificially high to encourage use of the Oyster card - it sucks for tourists...

You want to try getting a bus. £2 to go one stop.

It takes about 30 mins to walk around all the construction at Euston, KX & St Pancras -
Next time I will take a cab, the only reason I opted for the tube was because trying to find the taxi rank at Euston is way to complicated.
If you ever come north you will get to enjoy using this thing called a 'car' to get around. :cheers2:

Sucks for me a fellow countryman, it was cheaper to take a taxi to the hotel then the Tube Train!
I have to add also a taxi company London Westminster said were safe and trusting were theiving cheats. Agread fares were doubled!!!!!!!!
The only tourist in that cab was the driver, his reply to my shock at his fare was 'dis iz london' with a sarcy smile across his face!

seriously take a walk to the midland main lain platform at St Pancras....
They are doing somethign with Euro Star I was told so the you have to walk round the entire station, then double back on yourself before walking out of the station along the platform to the tempory boarding areas...
I was knackered :(

That's the great thing about London - you don't need a car...

I have to agree with Paul on this one. I mean london is a fucking nightmare. I drove in, got to the Hotel, one loading bay for the hotel. This wouldnt have been so bad if there hadnt have been a clapped out peugot parked in it, with a workman eating a bacon sandwich. I had to park in a disused bus stop. Within seconds i had a parking ticket! I should have stopped in the road! The tube is a nightmare. Its just so bloody confusing, its like a labyrinth! Half expected to see david bowie knocking about! This all said im going for a weekend in february, although i shall be polluting all the way in my car. I wont be using any public transport as its crap, over crowded, over priced and over rated.

More likely people cant afford to pay a fiver to park outside their own house and the congestion charges. Give me northern England anyday!
yea £4 tube fares WTf last time I remember being in london it was like £1.20 for one zone single?
or maybe I was buying halfs?

Nooo the quicker we got into the centre the better :D After the meet, the cabbie thought we didn't know where we were going and decided to take us on a long way around going up and down various side streets when I knew we were right around the corner from the hotel lol.
Cost me £30 for a cab to Spanno's house, then £13 something for the train plus another £4 for the tube. Then coming home its was £190 on the meter  luckily it was my mate so I gave him a bullseye.
So all in all about £100 to get there and back, at least those nice yanks paid for the meal, and most of the drinks ;)

You need an Oyster card to travel "cheaply" in London. If you pay cash, it's double fare! It's fine if you live here but a pain if you're visiting. You can walk from KX to Euston inside 10 mins!
You should have just got the train further - I went to Brum and back the other day for about £27.

I used to commute round the M25 daily. 80 miles a day at walking speed. I sold the car 5 years ago and don't miss it.

Look you! I told them to make it free bar, our Polish pal bar man didnt get it and as soon as I was told people were paying for their own bevvies I sorted it. So don't give me your moaning :P

That sounds a 100 times better then a bus or a tube :)

I heard you get 2 scottish pounds for one english one, bit like the USD
£5.10 for a day's tube pass for Zones 1 & 2. Must admit, I didn't find that too expensive. Black Cabs are great (and cheap compared to Jersey - In November it cost me more to get a taxi from home to Jersey Airport than it did for the flight from Jersey to Doncaster !)
Got to admit I like London - just wouldn't want to work or live there.
GEEZER IS A TEDDY BEAR (I just wouldn't like to get caught stealing his porridge) :)
