Thats so cool and well made.

In a few years they will not bother using real people in films, it will all be done on a pc.

that'd be ace. finally the ridiculous amounts paid to assweasels like Tom Cruise could be invested in new stories rather than doing yet another version of a 1980's movie that has been a redone version of a 1960s movie based on some 1950s movie which was just an adaption of a 1940s movie that was just another lame try to top soem 1920s movie.

i'm absolutely sure that will happen. :p

it is indeed. Cool movie clip. Very clever.

Your entry in the topic clicked a long and distant braincell into action and reminded me of a show on radio back when it was called TALK Radio instead of TALK- Sport as it is now.

Some guy was on I think a James Whale show talking about exactly what you are referring too.

I just ran a search on yahoo and found my first googlewhack - Dave Gorman you have mail LOL

But re-ran with the correct spelling and found this in case it is of interest

Will never happen.

Have you not seen Toy Story?

A few months ago I watched a sci fi film on ch5, and it took me 15 mins to realise that it was all computer graphics.

It will happen as it will be so cheap to do it.

Think of how much a film can cost, easily 20 million. Do it all on a computer and its a set cost.

Will never happen.

Of course it will - they will do it because they can. Not *every* film will be computer generated, but you can bet that we will be seeing dead movie stars "acting" again within 5 or 10 years. Maybe even sooner.

Wasn't there meant to be a "new" Bruce Lee movie coming out? I'm sure I saw clips somewhere...

I think you might mean Final Fantasy - that had fucking incredible graphics, just a lousy script. But it's a few years old now and is definately a sign of things to come.

It could be that film. It was clever.

If we do, it won't be anything more than a gimmick that we see in a small handful of movies. Just remember that human movement, emotion and expression is based on a computer far more powerful than anything Hollywood has.

Yeah I'm not saying CG people will take over the movies, but the point *will* come where you won't be able to tell the difference between real & CG people. Computers don't have to simulate human movement, expression, or emotion - that's what motion capture is for. And an actor does the voice. Have you seen Lord of the Rings? Imagine the technology used to create Gollum, expanded and improved over the next 5-10 years.
