Hi all!

What a great forum you guys have here! I've just started out in the adult online world and need to pick up some tips fast!

I have one live site already: www dot naughtylilsam dot com and I have two more sites which are similar, but with different girls, on the way - content all filmed, just need to get the site sorted.

The site is doing ok - but I feel it could be doing a lot better! Could anyone advised me on some quick & easy things to do that would increase traffic to the site?

I'm all ears and very appreciative!

Thanks,
Rob.

i like that naughtsam, do you not have an affiliate programme?

A couple of ways you could increase traffic is to start a blog up or to make a gallery page of screenshots and post links to the gallery page on surfer forums that allow adult pictures. there are many other ways of boosting traffic but i'll let the real experts here show you the way

Welcome Rob.

When I saw your site the other day, the first thing I looked for was an affiliate program.

I haven't looked again since I just remember looking the other day to see what you had.

Getting other webmasters to promote your stuff is one of the ways to increase your traffic, sadly it is not necessarily the quickest.

Thanks guys for your respnses so far - and I'm sorry for posting in the wrong forum!

So, the affililiate scheme sounds good - can anyone reccomend a good affiliate scheme? I know there are hundreds out there...and I'm guessing there must be some adult only schemes....

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks,
Rob.

Thanks Johnny...

I'm still uterrly confused though! Those sites seem to be payment sites, like paypal or something?

Do they also run affiliate schemes? I couldn;t see anything...

I'm in the UK - are there specific UK affiliate schemes/programs?

Thanks,
Rob.

rob, if you use ccbill (for example) for site billing you can easily set up an affiliate program, ccbill manage all of the payments and stats etc.

Ah I see, thanks.

I already have my own merchant account, so I don't need a billing solution/payment processor, just an affiliate program....

Any pure affiliate schemes out there?

Thanks again!!

Ah ok, I understand....

What is the usual revenue split then? 50%?

Cheers,
Rob.

70% for the affiliate and you keep 30%, normally.

Scotty.T

just kidding, normally a 50/50 split.

Some progs run it upto 60 or 65% to the affiliate if they are making more sales.

ha! You nearly had me there!

Even so, once I had paid out 50% then paid VAT, that only leaves me with 32.5%

Better than nothing I guess, but a little disappinting maybe?!?!

Cheers,
Rob.

If you're making enough sales I would think it's worth it.

CCBill is a good option, webmasters like to know they are going to be paid on time everytime - CCBill is perfect for this...

The VAT thing is a whole can of worms in itself BUT you would be left with 35.11% which is still a kick in the nuts but slightly better than 32.5%!!

Yeah, I guess.

Do these affiliate schemes really work then? Will they send LOTS of traffic to my site?

On another note, anyone know what the average conversion rate for a porn site is? I.e. the number of visitors that actually cough up and become customers? I would think maybe 1, 2 %???

Cheers,
Rob.

Depends on the quality of traffic being sent to the site.

Members upsells usally have a better ratio compared to tgp traffic

The affiliate scheme is just a facilitator to allow tracking and payment - success is measured in many ways and will depend on a million and one things including who promotes you, how they promote you and, more importantly, how the traffic they send converts. Lots of traffic is not the aim - lots of QUALITY traffic is!

Youd need to provide your affiliates with promo tools such as cntent and FHG's etc for them to be able to promote you, once you've done that it's up to them to bring you quality traffic

You have a lot of reading to do lol! I'd start going through some webmaster resource threads if I were you or finding some articles etc as it is a lot to take in all at once! You'll hear all sorts of terms here lol, I was confused too at first but I got there in the end! Taken me a while though lol...

Thanks...yeah it's gonna take me a while to get up to speed I think!

I have two other sites coming online within 2 weeks too - content already filmed, just working on the sites...

I need to learn fast!!!

Thanks,

other paysite owners put a link up inside there members area to your site, the ratio will be better cause these are surfers that do spend money on joining sites.

Tgps are flooded with shitty traffic from japan and other places so the ratio is higher because the traffic to your site isn't as good.

You only pay VAT on sales made in the EU, so if you want to redress the balance, look for affiliates and traffic from non-EU countries, ie, the US. This probably isn't the best board to network with such folk, so you should also look at some US based webmaster forums and chat with the guys there. People are always on the lookout for decent underexposed sites to promote - my advice would be to get a CCBill account and do all your payments through that. The CCBill affiliate system is widely trusted in the industry and it provides you with a built-in system for other people to sell your sites. Forget about UK payment processors - to my knowledge there are none who process adult sites, and certainly none who offer the peace of mind offered by CCBill - affiliates working with a CCBill system know they are going to get paid. It may also be worth having a chat with "Damian" who posts here, representing the other major adult payment processor, Epoch / Paycom. I believe they have a new deal available on payment processing plus an advanced affiliate tracking system called MPA3.

If you have a merchant account I seriously doubt they have OK'd your site unless its just topless, just my two cents.

Like these guys are saying you need an affiliate sceme and some tools maybe a bit of content people can use to promote you.
