A while back people were saying how they had smaller files for those on 56K dial up.
But now broadband is so popular is it worth giving a darn about those on 56k?
I mean these days I would suspect that the reason people use dial up is just for email and so would not bother to look at sites or they have not much cash, so they aint going to pay to join a site.

I still think there are a lot on dialup, well from the Europe anyway, but it is getting less and less all the time.

Way I see it is if the won't pay for broadband they won't pay £20 a month to join a pussy site.
56K stuff kinda looks pants compared to the Hi-def stuff too.

I agree.
Most of my mates here are earning about 300 quid a month, so they're not going to be signing up to any sites.
But they all have 5Meg cable connections - it only costs about 7 quid a month, so why not have it?
We stopped catering for dial-up back in about 2003.

I miss the noise of a dialup connection, it's just so exciting!!!!!
I have stayed with 4 US wealthy families in the past couple of years and each of them only used dialup.
Dialup is more common than many people realise, and you would be silly to design without giving load times good thought.
