I need to buy various versions of a domain name, including a .co.uk version for the first time.
Who do you recommend I use for bargain basement prices?

Thanks for the quick feedback. Two votes for ukreg.com does it for me, so I've done it through them (or at least I should have done when they phone me to confirm my account).
123reg.com sure has an ugly looking site. And they're expensive. And it doesn't look as if they do .co.uk addresses.
None of ciggiez' money for them!

I use these people http://www.domainnamesystems.com and they're doing .com addresses for $6.95 at the moment, so more or less £3.50
I always use 123-reg.co.uk for all my UK domains, never had a problem with them.
www.123-reg.co.uk for all domains, easy to transfer, free forwarding, free emails and easy to transfer the DNS for hosting.

That looks good as well. Too late now though - I already did the deal with ukreg.com
I was very pleasantly surprised that they phoned me to confirm my identity at 10.00pm. I didn't think they'd phone until tomorrow morning.

You shouldnt make a decision based soley on cost...... 123reg may be a little more expensive but as said in other posts they make it very easy to transfer domains...

I'm suire that onlytease meant to recommend www.123-reg.co.uk which does look very good indeed.
But I can see that 123reg.com is a completely different site - it's American. And the most hideous domain registration site I've ever seen.
Take a look at it yourself and you'll see why I didn't want to touch it ith a bargepole.

I didnt notice it was a .com instead of .co.uk..... Looks like someone has registered it as a type-in, agreed the .com looks awful
