So far they haven't been delivered - first off took ages to respond to some initial queries, setup took longer than I would have liked (though some of that was caused by me using Paypal to pay) and now its been over 4 days since I requested shell access on my account and despite sending a copy of my passport it still hasnt been actioned and no reply from support. What is it with me and hosting companies?? :(

I've had my problems with webair.... but find if you use the on line help they are good..... if the support people your dealing with cant help you, they can call on the necessary people to join in the chat session.

If this doesnt work.. this is the icq number of gerard 243-116-321 who is 1 of the reps...

Was with webair for over 3 years with 2 boxes. They were quite good, but some things started going wrong, and the support guys while being fantastic were obviously stretched paper thin.

Last straw came when I was paying 3 times what I should have been because I had been with them for over 3 years, and attempted to renegotiate a more reasonable price. They were more than happy to talk to me about a new box but once they realised I was going to cancel my 2 old ones responses stopped and I couldn't get an answer or even talk to anyone at all.

They are far from the worst, but with any budget host you get what you pay for.

Yeah mission critical stuff : natnet, isprime

Maybe cheaper but still good : cyberwurx, mojohost, jupiterhosting ... some others.

The real cheap ones can still have some uptime and fair support but the cheaper you go beyond a certian level the more you are giving up.

Anything goes wrong with my servers, i know i'm in very good hands, will get a reply with a tech who can help within a matter of minutes regardless of what time of day or night. I'm more than happy to pay extra for for this type of support as without servers running smooth, neither myself or affiliates will make money.

I just signed up for a cheap account at http://www.cyberwurx.com for a few small projects and so far, even though I'm paying a whopping $6.25  a month, support has been second to none. New domain's set up in approx 5 mins. Major support queries answered in about 8 mins.

So far so good.

I have a box with Webair & haven't had any probs with them - anything I can't do via the admin page is always dealt with quickly & efficiently.

I have quite a few boxes with serverprovider - Service and support? Second to none - Excellent -
They have done a load of stuff for me, well over and above the norm - and if I need to get hold of Sami at any time, he is always there. (Even got the poor guy on holiday in Mexico a few weeks back - !)

I used web air since day one, I will not lie and say I have not faced techinical issues. The thing is when I have had a problem they sort it out and that to me is the most important thing, getting things sorted.

We have hosted Lady-Sonia.com on an absolutely HUGE and very complicated load balanced set up at Webair for years and they look after our servers there very well. :)

Load balanced web servers I find easy to understand - its all this adult malarky that confuses the hell outta me lol

Im spending the next two weeks with my friends and family back in Ireland so dont have access to my PC to do anything now so it will have to wait till the New Year. Although none of my sites are money making I really hope my old host doesnt pull the plug before I get back which is why I had wanted this all to be done pre goig away..........

All servers and all hosts have problems. Its the way they are delt with that matters.

I have a couple of servers with webair and me and JP have one with this site and a few others on.

In the main webair have been the best host I have had, but are not perfect. My main issue with them, is that when something serious happens, I always end up having to shout at someone before it gets sorted.

As far as I can see from the outside as a customer, they have grown at a huge rate and maybe much quicker than they anticipated and are having growing problems.
