GeoIP how to indentify locations of punters

Hi I am toying with the idea of presenting different sign up pages to punters showing prices in US$, Euros or £ depending on their country. The actual conversion rates would be fixed at about $-£ =1.80. The basic software to locate the country is available free but before I start tinkering about with the code I wonder if anybody knows of off-the-peg software that could do the job. In fact, has anybody any thoughts on the subject. The advantages I see are that it would iron out currency fluctuations and also allow for the addition of VAT for EU transactions.

I filter by geo IP, not on paysites though. I got a script that cost around $200, but cant remember from where. I dont really use it much. Just for blocking some countries or for sites like this
