I always love Silent Night...I mean my I always celebrate christmas alone...that's why I kinda like it...dunno...my christmas seems lonely...
I can never decide.
The original band aid still pushes my buttons..
But I also love Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by Lennon..
And also Fairytale Of New York by Pogues/Kirsty Mcall
You just can't beat lines like..
You're a bum
You're a punk
You're an old slut on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed
You scumbag, you maggot
You cheap lousy faggot
Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God it's our last
hehe
I can never decide.

Fairytale is clearly the bext Xmas song ever - offensive lyrics, an ugly singer, and Shane MacGowan - how can you lose?

there is something haunting about that "wish i was home for christmas" line, they was its sung, i think
Chris Rea - Driving home for Christmas................. If you've been stuck in a traffic jam on xmas eve you'll know why!!

For that special Xmas feeling I listen to ol' blue eyes! Actual xmas songs make me want to tear my ears off after the 10,000,000th listen.

Fairytale of new york is the best christmas song ever.
Even if it didn't hit #1 status, that doesn't mean much. Usually things that hit #1 are garbage pop titles that 14 year old girls spend their money on........that doesn't equate to quality level.
Fairytale gets my vote too
Although I am biased cos the Pogues was the first gig I ever saw, and I got a drumstick chucked out with POGUE MA HONNE on it
A prized possession
Confession time. Last week we were all out partying at a bar in a local town and Slades song started playing. It really made me feel homesick. How sad is that?

The Cocteau Twins' cover of "Frosty the Snowman" is the only decent Christmas record ever made - the rest are all pants.

Fucking sweet.
I just got to see the pogues live for the first time this past October, shit was a religious experience. I was fairly close to catching one of those metal things they like to bash on their heads, but not quite.......meh. At least they were giving out concert posters.

My old man went to see Shane McGann live last year - he just came home laughing.
