IE closes

right, it started with one site, now after 2 days it's up to 3 where it's happening, where with one it's only a specific page, in fact a thread on a board, the rest of the board is fine.

when i try to open any of these 3, IE acts normally, and after a second it closes the window.
when i am on that one board and open that thread that's causing it in a new window, it still closes all windows showing that board.

i took the trusted site status off the sites and put them in the restricted sites list, meaning no scripts or active-x are running, and it's still happening.

Firefox shows nothing like that, i prefer IE though.

any ideas?

sorted. a Spybot file (SDHelper.dll) was fucked up according to HijackThis, which also explained why the shit started after i had run ad-aware and spybot.

so now a fucked up anti-spyware proggie gives you spyware symptoms, huzzah. :D

thanks for the heads up in case i see it elsewhere. just for reference, did you reinstall spybot , or reupload the defenitions, to fix it that is ?

i just deinstalled it to be true. i was always doing ad-aware first and then another scan with Spybot. as of late, it never found anything but a cookie or two ad-aware missed. the former gap between their results seems closed for now.

also Spybot always warns you it may have issues cos other anti spyware stuff is in stalled, while ad-aware doesn't. i dislike whiners, off with their head. :D
