View Full Version : Do affiliates use pictures of the day?
Was thinking of adding them to my program, do affiliates want them in any real numbers these days?
i'm a big fan of them myself

yes I use them on quite a few sites.
I like to be one step ahead
Does anybody promote "Pictures Of Tomorrow"?

i'll be adding them tomorrow
i do, but find that I usually remove them after the first time the server hosting the thumbnail fails. sites with broken images look bad and it's bad for biz.

That's a good point. Whenever I use anything like that, I make sure that it's all cached (my) server side so when the remote site goes down my site doesn't look crap.

Too bad.
I was looking for them yesterday.
yeah i use them but very few places actually offer them and those that do tend to show the same pics every week...
so often i end up making my own out of 30 pics.
Ive never seen a decent video of the day, closest ive ever found is the AEBN stuff..
Massive thumbs up for pics of the day.

Ah - i need to learn to read - i use pics of the day on blogs - often using the thumb as a direct link to the paysite - kind of like a daily changing advert.

Nope dont use them. because i like to select the picture personally to make sure its the best for the page.although picture of the day may be good for bookmarks.
Yep I love 'em.
But very few sites offer them.
My favourite ones offer a choice of thumbnails in different sizes with my affiliate link code too. When a surfer clicks the link it opens another page, also hosted on the sponsors server, with a full size image and banner which both contain my affiliate code so when the surfer cliks these it takes them through to the site.
Some sponsors don't go this far, either providing the TOTD only or the TOTD and a hosted full-size POTD which I then have to build a page to show.
Could you let us know when your POTD stuff is ready, JT?
