I have been thinking about this invention from the 40's:

Its clear the down side is people will use false coins or try to break in for the coins, so how about this for an updated idea.
Your customers register a mobile and/email address on your site.
They then put the contact no on there door.
It would be somthing like "to stop unwated pests, text me at 55ld459ty". The last but would be the house no and post code.
Then the persen sending it would be charged £1.
Then a text and/or email would be sent to the person, to say somone is at the door (it would inc the persons mobile no too who sent the text'.
This would be free for the person to sighn up to.
But if they wished they would pay £10 monthy subscription, but would get 50p for every text sent. Ie if you have lots of people coming to your door you can make money from it.
Also usfull for deaf people who can set there mobile to vibrate.
