I mean its realy rather sh*t at the moment.

I am sure other countries must produce better tv than us. I cannt see it being any worse.

We really do have some of the best TV in the world. Most people would say there isn't much between us and the US. They have great big shows like 24, Lost etc but when ever I've been in the US that seems to be it the rest of the time it's just adverts and overly sensational news.

I personally think our TV is better on average. I think Japanese TV is good too, but that's just cos it's completely and utterly insane.

Believe me - UK TV is the best no matter how bad it is.

You should see Aussie TV. Jesus.

i do wonder sometimes about american telly, we, after all get the best shows they have and good though they are you can see where the advert breaks are meant to be. also you watch some of the american shows shown here in the small housr and they are beyond bad.
having said that, have you see Ben tv on satellite here? i really do not understand how it has a broadcast licence. the quality of the shows both technically and of entertanment quality are really, really low. i honestly think i could make a better show than the crap they put on

english uk sucks for drama, but is great for comedy, give it time.

Yeah I've always thought British drama was a massive pile of shit. I mean seriously, what do we have that's half decent that's not a detective show or a costume drama? There's fuck all originality in British drama. The US seems to churn out a ton of high-concept, high-production values shows, some of which are actually really good. And what have we got? Torchwood - basically Dr Who with swearing. Great.

I couldn't live in Mexico cuz of the telly.

When I was in the US the cable was good and even the free stations had programs on until 2 or 3am. Southpark was on every day on UPN13.. TWICE!! And they have a few NFL games on free TV on Saturday and one on Sunday (used to be Monday).

We should have more football games on the BBC, thats my only complaint.

What has this girl got to do with anything?

Overall, I think that British TV is the best, but I think that the US produce a greater number of individual high quality shows, as evidenced by my largely American collection of DVD box sets.

She's clearly a hockey player.

Are you trying to suggest that she isn't actually a hockey player?

I apologise for offending your manliness. I can see how my posting a picture of a female hockey player could do that.

Nope, that ain't a female hockey player. That is a grass hockey girl.

She appears to be female, and a hockey player. I think I'm correct to say she's a female hockey player.

Not much of a TV fan, but Mexican telly is ace!

Where else would the breakfast show consist of 20 gorgeous latinas in 6 inch skirts dancing a 30 second routine every five minutes to a song that basically goes "each morning, each morning, each morning..... you are in my heart"

Then we have afternoon game shows that have skimpy bikini clad girls rolling round in paddling pools full of jelly fighting each other looking for tickets.

With SKY you get Premier league on a Sunday, Euro matches in the week - the only thing that is crap is the news as it's all US based. So I just watch BBC on the 'net.

Missing Trisha and Jeremy Kyle... and my daughter misses Balamory

Sports plays a societal role in engendering jingoist and chauvinist attitudes. They're designed to organize a community to be committed to their gladiators.

Noam tells it like it is.

That actually sounds quite good but then some bloke dressed in a dog outfit comes on and the rest of the show turns into a farce. Maybe I was just unlucky with their Olympic coverage ;)

There's a US spanish-language show called Secretos on Channel 62, I did some filming with those guys. I love the fact that there is at least one hot chick in every show, generally not wearing much.
