Trying to import an RSS feed to hardcore.sexynote.com and when I try to upload it it says ".....Is its parent directory writable by the server?" what does that mean and how do I fix it lol...

I already have feed wordpress but that only works for specific links which many sponsors dont offer - real sex cash does but not all do. Which means I then have to save their RSS feed as a .php file and import it into the blog but because it isn't a main domain it isn't letting me. I need to figure out a way to make the "directory writable by the server"

I use feedwordpress for the real sex cash feeds and it's great :)

Have never used Wordpress but this sounds like a permissions problem - try setting the folder you are uploading into to 755 and see if that helps??

I use the zippedsites plugin, therer is a form field where you can import a sponsors rss url and it will fetch it

Im not uploading anything - and what does change it to 775 mean?

It's part of wordpress, an option in the admin area to "import" a feed, I basically copy the feed into a .php file and click upload works with al other sites but the hardcore one, maybe cuse its a subdomain, I dont know lol...

This is definitely a permissions problem. FTP to the directory where you are trying to upload the file and CHMOD the directory to either 755 as suggested above or 777 if that doesn't work. If you need help figuring out which directory it is, ICQ me and I'll help you out.

zippedsites (http://www.zippedsites.com/user/signup.php?ref=skyblueboy)

zipped blogs is the one you want

upload it to your wordpress plugins folder, go to wordpress admin, then plugins, activate zippedblogs, then go to wordpress manage then zippedblogs and your have the option of using sponsors you have inputted or used the url feed form feild its really easy! (although some sponsors rss feeds dont seem to work!)

yup it sure was :)

One last question lol - see when you import feeds, does it automatically update? Or is there something you need to do to update it?

Importing is just a one time thing - it isn't like syndicating. If you want to perpetually pull info from a feed, you need to install a Wordpress plugin like this one and follow the instructions - they're very simple:
