check out the other firms as they have the same machine (but different names).

Its going to be what you use it for. If its just email, then a blackberry phone will give better battery power and smaller.

I thought I would use mine to go on the net a lot, and to be honest I hardly surfe the web, i just use it to read the odd email (saves me booting up the pc all the time). The problem with the web, I found was the browswer that comes with it, cannot cope with many sites. Htlm basic sites are fine, but it found sites with lots of frames, then it goes nuts.

If you plan on surfing the web, I would sugest opting for a cheap laptop and a blutooth phone.

But if its email then its a good machine.

Its nice I found if your out you find you can relax more as you can read and send emails while your out. Its good during summer as you can work out side.

It sucks though if you wish to make calls as it big (so you feel a twit) and it drains the battery quick. If you do get it, get a second phone. I use an old nokia for calls as the battery lasts longer.

I had one of the original xda's - seemed a good idea at the time... but it was utter shit...... hard to use as a phone because of its shape, the screen easily gets scratched, so using the stylus becomes a pain, battery life shit...

i wouldn't bother with the mini, but if you want something comparable but about the same size, see if you can get an orange SPV M600,there better built, and they dont have that stupid little keyboard.shame they're only available on orange though

I got a SPV M2000 my mate has the one beaver mentions, seemed like a good idea at the time though a pocket PC has no use really you seen get board of reading email and checking your sites down the pub.

Got to say your probably correct.

The BIG problem I find with mine is that its a bit cheap. Its low power and not as solid.

In other words if you plan to use it say for watching films on it or using it as a route planner thing, you may find it struggles.

Most of those phones are windows portable devises (pda's) but most will also have a blackberry email system on them.

No, windows mobile

You should find its has blackberry on it.

But if you do get blackberry running, go with t-mobile, its only £10 per month.

Why would I want blackberry if it has windows mobile?

I wouldnt go with t-mobile if they paid me £10 a month

 20 mins every morning to switch it on ans boot it up then!!

The SPV M2000 is a much better option.... u can pick them up off ebay... already chipped, so u can use them on any network

doesnt take any longer than my mobile to boot up. Id much rather have a windows system that I can put on my network, share files emails etc etc. Plus is 100 times more user friendly running windows

What are you on about. Windows mobile is instant.

The only time it 'boots up' is if you press the reset button.

I got an XDA Exec in January when they were on special offer for £99 initial payment plus the per month contract fee for 12 months of £24.99 (Data 36 Tariff and Insurance).

Best little toy i've bought in a long time. Being able to access the net no matter where you are is invaluable. You can also connect your laptop to the XDA Exec while away and use it's 3G internet connection!
