Technically they did not.
We have had a ceibration for many years in ther UK (i forget the even) so it could be said its just a rebrand.
Also techically trick or treat is from mexico. Each year they have somthing caled day of dead or somthing. A seibration of the deseast relatives. People will get out the bones of there family dead and clean and polish them.
But one reason I posted this was to point out the 23rd was a usa holiday so you may find your checks or whatever take a day or two extra to arive or clear if you paid them in a bank.
Its well worth noting usa and other countries holidays as they do effect you.

Halloween came from the pagans, its 'all hallows eve' the night the dead can come back onto the earth with the living. The disembodied spirits of all those who had died throughout the preceding year would come back in search of living bodies to possess for the next year. It was believed to be their only hope for the afterlife.
The Celts believed all laws of space and time were suspended during this time, allowing the spirit world to intermingle with the living. Years ago if anyone was thought to be a witch they would be burnt on 'all hallows eve'.
As far as i know its nothing to do with cleaning bones lol. And it is mainly celebrated in america, the festival was celebrated by originally by catholics, It was brought over here not so long ago but did originate from Ireland.
Did a project at school :crown:
There you go
