You want to untar a tar file? Just go into your server with telnet or ssh and use tar.

I can afford it .......... I'm an employer with a huge turnover but what that has to do with getting an unzipping tool for free i'll never know.

Not as such - XP can natively unzip ZIP files but not TAR files. Its not via Winzip but is a function of Explorer.
