View Full Version : Epassporte
after just seeing a post about not taking epassporte, i wondered who here avoids them, and why?
it seems there are a few stories around that seem a tad akward, while we never had any issues with epass (just like godaddy, it seems) and are in fact rather happy with it.

I love epassporte, it beats the hell out of waiting a week for the cheque to be delivered by post, then paying a $10 foreign-currency cashing fee!
cheers,

I avoid them because of their "Risk Department" That seems to primarily target non US people.
To "Paypalish" for my taste and thus I won't touch em. I'll stick to moneybookers ;)
hardly anyone pays out to MB though, and not many take MB payment. plus i get instant cash from epass at any ATM, while i need to wait 2 working days with MB.

I hear ya, but for my taste there are to many horror stories on Epass out there, and some I witnessed close as it happened to people close to me.
Then I rather wait 2 days but am sure it will be there and my account with MB too :D

Epassporte are fine as long as you done need any support

Until risk department decides your account needs flaggin.
Then Rand will be powerless all of a sudden. Seen that in action on GFY.
well, as i said before, it's the same with godaddy, tons of stories, but none i would have heard from any actual victim i know and trust. and so far we didn't have any issues with them either.

I know you think Im a wanker, so probably have no interest in what I say. But even though you are a guardian reading terrorist lover I feel it my duty from one UK webmaster to another to tell you this.

I would really think about moving your names from godady. If you have any names that are valuable, move them away, if someone targets your name or names and wants to steal them, you will loose them with godaddy. They are so incompetant its bordering on criminal[/not hated wanker mode]
back to normal. Go and give your terrorist buddies a hug from me
why would i think you're a wanker? because you have views i find amusing? nah. personal differences in opinions have nothing to do with business. :D
anyway, we just moved some domains off godaddy this week, and the things that happened were:
1. out of 4 domains 3 couldn't be transferred to namecheap cos they couldn't read the WHOIS due to the WHOIS guard. why they moved 1, which also had WHOIS guard, anyway still amazes me.
2. we removed the WHOIS guard, whois.sc showed the real data, yet namecheap still couldn't read it. comes up their tool is faulty, so they start the move manually. shortly after that i had mails to confirm, which i did, another 30 mins later godaddy sent the mails, after which i went into the CP and agreed to all 3 moves.
3. 2 hours later godaddy has pulled the DNS entries and namecheap still hasn't finished the transfer, thus 3 sites are still down.... this seems to become a long weekend.
