OK, I understand that they do well in goggle.
But do people keep going back to them?
Most I have seen are just one or two pages of dull waffle.

I wonder the same. But then I dont really get the web at all, apart from a couple of forums I wouldnt spend any time on the web that wasnt work

In the two months since I added the blog to my site, referrals from Google have trebled. Overall, Google accounts for about 10% of my incoming traffic.
I started blogging in March an dmy sales have increased enough for me to continue to do them, I have 50 of them so sometimes it is a little hard to keep them all updated, but I make sure the most popular ones are

19% does not seem much.

Depends on the hits.
Are they just blind unwanted hits - by this, doing a search but not finding what they want.
For example I bet the words Paris Hilton is on most adult blog sites and so on. It may get people onto a site, but do they convert?
Aside from a few o/t posts, everything in my blog is relevant, so there's a better chance that visitors will find what they want and subsequently click through affiliate links.
