View Full Version : If you could meet any one person?
Who would it be and why?
Hard one!
Easy.
It would be my deceased father so I could show him the grandson he waited and waited to see, but alas never got the chance to.
Nelson Mandela - for so many reasons really, but mainly because he emerged from the barbarity of aparteid as the stronger man
Not a particularly weighty choice, but it would have to be Amanda Peet for me. She's sooooo purty :D
Margaret Thatcher
So I could thank her, for restoring the country back to a world leader from the state it was in in the Union days and giving back Britain some pride

I feel sorry for the miners I did then and I do now. But the unions where trying to bring a government down by undemocratic means which had to be stopped, unfortunatly the miners where caught in the middle.

Some of them I did but they could not understand what they where doing was wrong and that they could never win. One of my wife's brother's still doesnt talk to after all these years because of an arguement we had over Margaret Thatcher and the Unions he is a die hard NUM man.

They did win 5 years before when they succesfully bought down the Heath government, they thought they could do it again.
What a terrible state the country would be in now if she had let them win.
OK at the end she went a bit batty. But if it wasnt for her we would still be in the mess we was in the 70's
