AVS Sites

Hi,

I just watched DVT's link to the paintball movie with the naked guy following his question about a niche site idea.

UK Dude said it might be better suited to an AVS site from the update perspective.

So I thought I would just start a thread and enquire how many of you still go down the AVS route?

If so, is AVS still alive and kicking and making you lots of cash?

For me, I found ProAdult easy to use.

I used them as they took care of hosting and billing.

Now hosting is cheap and ccbill are good.

The downside of proadult are the servers are slow.

I use proadult for the bulk as I did not want to cheat members, by making them join other avs systems to get my stuff.

Customer care for me is more important than profit.

But now I find other UK sites are around which look fantastic and also use proadult, so I suspect they get the members.

Proadult give good help too.

AVS are not as profitable as they once was. AVS has been my main source of income since 97 and the last 18months I have been slowly getting out. AVS used to be great if you had a lot of traffic to throw at different niche avs sites then the members area upsells where great as you had pre qualified surfers who had credit cards and where not afraid to use them.

The ones I still use and make good money with are Adult Verifier and Deluxe Pass.

http://www.cyberage.com/ is the only system I've had much joy with ... havent made an avs site for over a year, but still get cheques from em every fortnight ..

the difference is that now you have to promote your sites rather than rely on the AVS bringing you the traffic without you doing any real work.

I always have brought my own traffic to my avs sites Id say 80% of my avs income over the 9 years has been my own traffic. Even in the good old days of adult check when the link list brought you quite a few sales a day I always brought 3 to 4 times with my own traffic.

I dont think they will be around in 2 years time just a personal opinion. I think 2257 (in some form) and Visa will finaly kill them off.

I tried it once, maybe I was unlucky but I felt it a waiste of time, maybe I got on the AVS banned wagon to late

I was operating Red Cloud Nine before ProAdult even started. When the redclouds sites evolved into ProAdult there were many UK sites around before you arrived on the scene.

If you have good exlcusive amateur material you can do very well with and would recommend any net amateurs to take a look at using ProAdult.
I make a very good living with only AVS sites and a few links sites.

If you're going to go down this route i'd look seriously at the members area security, htaccess referrers that most of the avs's used are easily spoofed and could cause you headaches.. just a warning :onguard:
