View Full Version : The Joe A thread

I went to see Joe A yesterday in hostpital. I thought I would make a small post about it. I will be leaving some details out. Because some shouldnt be posted here and some becuase thats what Joe wanted.

If you are a friend of Joe's feel free to PM me or ICQ me if there is anything you want to know and if I can I'll furnish you with details.

First thing is Joe doesnt want any visitors. Not family not friends not anyone. Not me again. No one. But I will be going again to see him in a week or so. If anyone wants to see Joe. Just be prepared that he doesnt want you there. For me thats easy, as no one wants me anywhere I go.

For those trying to phone Joe and are leaving messages. Dont bother, Joe wont be taking calls in the immediate future. He is far to weak to pick up a phone and can hardly speak.

Last time we all went out, I remember saying to Joe that he has lost weight and he said that he had, he wasnt big to start with. Well take into account how thin he was and that he had lost weight and add to that that he has lost a further 3 stone since he has been in hostpital. My guess is he weighs maybe 6 stone.

He wont eat anything or drink anything, thats where his main problems are. Its like he has given up. The same thing happened to my mum when she was very ill, but people kept pushing her and she had family there 24/7 making her eat. Joe doesnt have that and all though the nurses are trying to get him to drink water and eat. It is the National Health and we all know they dont offer that sort of one to one care. Adding to that, he wont have a drip, when they tried to add one, he pulled it out himself.

He can speak a little, so can communicate a little bit, but just wants to sleep 24/7 I mentioned we was thinking of having a whip round and did he want anything, he said a million pounds. I said if we didnt manage a million pounds is there anything else. He said if we cant raise a million pounds then dont bother. So there is still a little bit of a fight in the old bugger

Still the same stubborn old bastard then.

Seriously though, i hope he comes to his senses and makes a full recovery.
Having spoken to him several times on the phone, he could talk the hind legs off a donkey so it just doesn't seem right him not wanting to get back to health.

*If* he reads this or anyone else sees him, tell him i miss our phone chats with him dropping the phone every 5 mins or telling me to 'shit, stay there my dinner is burning' and then hearing cursing, bangs and crashes :)

One thing on the bright side. Joes docter is about the horniest asian bird of seen in a long time. So maybe he will have some new content when he comes out

I hope he sorts it out, it's a shame he doesn't have any family to give him a kick up the arse.

I spoke to him two weeks ago and he sounded down but was able to speak, now he can barely speak so he is going down hill quick.

Tell him we have mananged to get a million together but he'll have to start eating and get better to collect it.

Hi Johny.

I've just found out the full story from a thread on another forum.
I still can't believe it.
I'm gutted.

That is well shit.

I chatted to Joe for a few days while i sorted out a script for him. He seemed like a well sound bloke.

All the best to him and his family!

So allowing a drip would help how?

What do you mean by "trolled"?, do you mean questioning your shite?

Geezer, other people in this thread have wished him well and said they hope things turn around, he pulls through, etc. I say something similar and you decided to go on the attack. It is making it impossible to enjoy this board, which is most likely your intention.

I just joined this forum so that I could post my regards to Joe A. I found out this information this evening and was shocked by it all.

I never knew the guy but he helped me in so many ways, sticking his neck out for me publicly when no-one else would dare. I owe him a debt of thanks and have never had the opportunity to repay him.

Joe, you are a star, who has won more favour in this business than anyone. And you never expected anything in return.

You are one of a kind.

Most sincere wishes to you and your family from both myself and Lisa.

No, I never knew Joe either. Many people nowardays ( me included ) have had their lives touched by cancer in one way or another, and it seems to be getting more common every year.

It is, however, a fact that a small number of people with terminal cancer do recover. So one should never assume all hope is lost.

Sad news about Joe A.. I've never met him, but chatted on icq a few time with him.....
I would hope hes drawn some comfort (although he'd never admit it) from the good wishes that JT passed on when he visited him on friday....
Also, I find it quite heartening that we (as an online community) have showed that we do care about fellow members....

Very shocked and saddened to hear about Joe. :(

Always a lively character. I remember being sat next to him at an Adultcheck do in Vegas back in 2001 when I first met him. very easy to talk to guy, if u can get a word in!

The boards won't be the same without Joe.
