View Full Version : Why do people go to the join page?
Is it just to be nosey?, is it to see how much it will cost to join?
I could understand seeing people at the join page if you have images linked to the join page. Obviously they are just blind links and they are there by "Mistake". What about when the only way there is to click the "Join" link, why the fuck do they go there and then click out, WANKERS! :takethat:
hope for more free material is one reason.

I suspect that people see the payment in $ and not a £, or payment is in credit card rather than say solo or switch.
I think it would be interesting to see the ration of people going to the join page from different countries in relationship to joining. I would suspect that those from the USA would have a better join ratio than from the UK, but I may be wrong.
this is why one uses sponsors offering geo targetted tours.

i suspect it is surfers hoping for more free stuff as part of the tour, or maybe hoping that it is free to get in or something silly like that. Ya never know what's in a horny surfer's head LOL!!!
cheers,
Luke
Just speaking for myself here, but the only times I've gone to a join page have been to check out the price because most sites don't show it anywhere else.

Ive never seen an increase in sales when a sponsor offers payment in the surfers own currency. UK traffic converts better for me than any other country and all my best converting sponsors only offer billing in USD

I put a script on the join page to collect username and email before they hit the join page if they didnt join with ccbill it then fired off an email to offer half price membership. It brought the surfers hitting the join page down and showed a truer ratio of people who actually wanted to join. It dropped by about 70%
At first joins to the site stayed same as before plus I was picking up half price joins.
But removed it last week as I wanted to add more billing options in you can only have 1 with the script and sales went up on the day i removed it by about 20%. So for know its going to stay off but it was a great script.

ProAdult has a pop up page that offers a 3 day cheap trial if somone leaves the sign up page.
I got good sales from this.
Once windows xp 2 came out, it blocked these. Now I get very few use the trial.
Shame.
