Like all add ons, they are like marmite..
Has anyny problems with it or is it wrking fine for you.
I keep having my security check box come up with every new page i click on!
Pain in the arse!
Oh well, it looks neat & tidy & when you use your middle button to click on a page, it doesnt load over the existing one on the same page it laps it underneath... very handy!! You can click up about 10 pages on the same page!
Nice one to the I.E boys & girls.
Love n kisses Gary & Natalie xxx

I check stuff in IE but we only *ever* surf with Firefox.

When IE7 is 100% may give it a try.

my billing company "paycomeu" surfs with firefox.. they were checking my ite for restrictons etc before allowing permission and 1 of the banners didnt show .. she tryed I E and it worked .. she appologised as i must have been the connection with firefox.. I hear its good but it just proves not all connections work with different material. I suppose its best to have it all!

Browsers have nothing at to do with connections but if your site isn't Firefox compatible you are missing an increasing number of surfers.

No all of the information was working apart from a banner that came from another site.. so thats good news for me i suppose.

I.E 7 is just a cheap microsoft rip off of Firefox there is nothing ie7 can do that firefox cant but there is plenty of things that firefox does that ie7 cant if that makes sense !

Once you go foxy you'll never go back ! :crown: :gold:

Yes the FF v IE thing seems to get a lot of people very excited. I can't get motivated to worry about it. Whatever the majority use, I'll go along with it, and check with the other one. FF or IE? Pepsi or Coke?

It's not really an issue for me.

Well unless she had adblock on there it would be magic yes so that would be good news. ;)

A mate checked a lot or sponsors console paysites with IE7. The default popup/exit blocker killed them all. Even ones coded to beat sp2, so that's a temp kick in the pants.

Never understood the idea behind popups that try to get thru the blockers.

"you WILL signup or we'll keep popping up this shit".

"oh, OK, let me go fetch my credit card".

You should always check with both IE and FF. FF is more strict so shows up errors in your HTML more easily, but sometimes IE does things in a non-standard way and you have to work around it.

We not only surf with firefox but run Linux on the desktops!

Never heard of a banner working in one browser and not the next though!

I will be back from here on the 13th Nov and then should be able to help you with anything on a UK time frame - which may or may not be useful for you.

Give or take a few %, this is pretty much an average over my sites:

MS Internet Explorer 78 %
Firefox 15.1 %
Opera 2.3 %
Safari 2.1 %
Netscape 1 %
Mozilla 0.5 %
Unknown ? 0.3 %
Konqueror 0 %
Camino 0 %
Sony/Ericsson Browser (PDA/Phone browser) 0.1 %
Others 0.1 %

Poor old Netscape seems to be nowhere now.

Our Firefox users are significantly higher than those at about 30% at the moment but we do push FF *very hard* inside our site and in our newsletters together with other anti-virus and trojan information as we want to keep our users computers as healthy and free of crap as possible so that hopefully they will stay with us longer.

The average newbe / non computer savvy surfer who spends more than a couple of hours a day trawling TGPs etc using IE has his computer filled with crap in no time at all and a pissed off surfer with a fucked computer is potentially another bum-on-seat lost forever.

Business is business and what the fuck is the point in spending huge amounts of time and money getting them to convert and stay without a bit of simple information to make their online user experience as safe and happy as possible.

Of course when Vista is released (and taken up in large numbers) the FF v IE pros and cons could change.

I like I.E personally but maybe Vista may change everything...

Yep - You don't understand - Traffic is traffic and a pop under/console that shifts non buying surfers from one site to another is cash in the bank - If a surfer doesn't buy from you, why not sell that surfer to another site?

pleasureville

Pop ups are a pain in the arse though... why not just have links & then if people want to go there they can!
I do believe Wank master is correct... I wouldnt want pop ups from my site!
Id rather give people the chance to come to me or not... I believe that http://****************.co.uk is good enough to get enough good members that I wouldnt want to bug people with pop ups.

As a surfer, if a site tries to throw me a popup, I just never visit it again. If I want penis pill, a new ringtone, a smiley, a university degree, or to join a porn site, I'm for sure not going to give my details to anyone who tricks me like that. So the original site loses me, and the popup site I'll not be joining.

There's a belief that these popups are a "good thing". Given that everyone I know has a blocker, and everyone thinks popups are naff and belong to the
90s I don't see why any site would bother with em. Surely a link with
"Don't like these tits, click here for some bigger tits" might work even better?

Anyway, if you think it works for you, fine.
