Just in time for Christmas.

Despite the fact the kid will be be raised with such a wealthy couple, I can't help feeling sorry for it.

Yes a bit of a circus.

The problem I see is that the kid will be brought up miles away from his natural family.
But then again he will at least have a life with the cash. Plus Maddona is 80 so as soon as she pops her clogs he could be rich.
I wonder in 20 years time, will the kid be thanking the charities that are blocking it?

Madonna will have a non-inheritance clause all over the adoption I'm sure.

Maybe, I wonder in 20 years time living in Mawali the bloke will think he was lucky not being adopted?

If that was the sentiment she could have adopted the whole village and made a real impact all around?
It’s a bit churlish to mock the good that can come out of this if it all goes well but she took out her own film crew and team so you have to wonder about her motives.

I think its a hard one, simply as i wonder if he will feel he is far from his original family.
But then he child is very young, so he may not be bothered.
But will Maddnona be there for the kid or just be on tour all the time.
Its one thing if she will be a full time parent, but another if the kid is just a novelty item.
I have a feeling it will be 'nanny' who ends up bringing the kid up.
But then, would he be fostered in Mawali?. But then again the only reason the kid is up for adption is the dad cannot afford to suport the child, so why does she simply not give the day 10k each year to suport the child? this way he is with his dad.
If that was the sentiment she could have adopted the whole village and made a real impact all around?
probably the whole country.
But individually, do you think in 20 years time the bloke will be happy that those charities stepped in to protect him?

In truth she could have easily financed a small project and helped them. Such as set up a business that would employ people or build a school or somthing. Thiks would be low cot and probably a tax right off, and would have been a big benifit.
But then again on the news she looks like she has gone 'nuts'.
After all she still thinks she is 16.
probably the whole country.

If Hello and OK pay him for the feature I'm sure he will.

She went nuts a long time ago.

its a tough one.
I just think she has thought, i want a kid, i am rich, i can get a kid.
A bit like me, i want an elephant. but just cos i want one does not make it right for me to have one.
I also want a tank to drive down the streets and crush all the cars, but again that does not make it right.
Plus she is a bit old now.

She's already ploughed a ton of cash into that community.

But on an individual basis, will that kid in 20 years time be thankfull to all those charities that blocked the adpotion, if it would have worked, but it looks like it didnt anyway

Responsible adoption is a great thing. The only thing that feels odd to me is that he isn't an orphan..he has a father. Perhaps going for a child without any parents at all would have been better but I don't know her personally and so it would be dumb to try to guess her motives. She is probably wanting another child but she isn't a spring chicken any more. So, she is giving a child a chance at an amazing life. It is hard for me to look down on her for that too much even if I find her generally annoying.
Adoption has been a big part of my life as my father, his brother and their grandfather were all adopted. My dad has always been really touchy about things regarding adoption..such as he hated Cabbage Patch Kids because he thought they trivialised adoption. Yet, he is talking in positive terms for this. Adoption rules in the UK (and the States) are very strict and make it very difficult, if almost impossible, to adopt a British child. Madonna would be too old, overweight people can't adopted, you can't have a big age gap in your marriage, etc. Stuff like that makes overseas adoption appealing to people.
But on an individual basis, will that kid in 20 years time be thankfull to all those charities that blocked the adpotion, if it would have worked, but it looks like it didnt anyway
The child landed in London this morning. It hasn't been blocked, she's been granted an 'interim' adoption order I think

3 million and walked away with a kid as payment.

Well you know what these celebs are like. They have to have their fashion accessories in every colour :crown:

On the other hand she is much better equipped at looking after children than an awful lot of people..
Its only the media thats turned it into a circus
I don't understand why she's gone for one with a parent still living.
You just "know" this father is going to pop up every few years selling stories to the tabloids to make a few bucks for himself.

Surely there are many children in her own contry or in the Uk (where she spends a lot of her time) who need a loving family first? sorry but look after your own first, what makes that little boy any different from a little boy/girl in her country? whats wrong with adopting an american child, a child whos culture and lifestyle wont be affected as much as that poor little boys when hes taken away from all he knows?
If you ask me she is doing it to make herself look cool up against other celebs EG - angelina. Its plain wrong

Once again..the adoption rules in the UK (and in the States) are very difficult. Assuming rules wouldn't be bent for her she is too old to adopt in the UK. There is nothing wrong with adopting an American or British child but it isn't as if she is the first person to adopt a child from another country. In my area of the States there are a huge number of kids my age that were brought over from Vietnam and adopted (Pearl S Buck foundation brought them over) and they have done fine. He is 13 months old, I am more worried about cameras being in his face every other minute than him being in a different country.
Though, I agree having the father alive and still in his life is odd. Obviously people that are still alive give their kids up for adoption (my dad's birth parents were alive they just couldn't afford to have a baby) it just feels odd with all of the total orphans in Africa to adopt one that does have a living parent. Though, I guess the child was up for adoption anyway.
I just think she is getting too much slack. It isn't as if she would be able to just suddenly show up with a child and the press wouldn't ask about it.

just read over some requirements...looks like the age limit thing has changed since we were looking into adopting in the late 90's. It isn't a braod rule now but up to the local authority now.
Orphans should be given out for free to do all the manual work at home, all the fetching and carrying and what not.
