View Full Version : right thats it!
I applied for a drop kerb last year and got it after some hassle. Anyways being shocked by the price and travelling a lot I didn't get it done and when I went to do it I was told I had to RE-APPLY.
So I did and I was turned down :o/
I tried arguing but they just aren't having it
So I was gonna leave the kerb, get a skip and dif the front garden up, concrete it and put a ramp so I can get my car parked in front of my house!
is this illegal?
I am pissed off and want to be able to park my car

It's not illegal but without a drop kerb you will have no right to stop people parking outside your house.

Being able to concrete over your garden and stick a car on it is your human right ( or at least should be ). An english man's home is his castle, and his forecourt.

really? the thing is th parking line ends sort of half way across so even if someone is parked in the spot in front of my place i could still get my car past

Yep but the kerb is the councils and so is the road.

I don't know for sure, my mother got half involved with this crap last year. Seems it's down to the highway comission not the council, but I may have this all arse about face of course.

Yes, who cares who it's down to, go get the gyppos to bring you the tarmac and worry about the legal stuff later.

Its realy is your nabours say somthing.
If the council change it back, they will charge you some silly costs.
Also they may have bi-laws on what you can do with your garden. Plus it may lower the price of your house.
I tried to buy some council land. They wanted £70 legall fees.
It took 4 years for them to get round to a 5 min meeting to say no.

A surprising amount of people actually do that but the council *always* sue and win. Its often cheaper to buy a helecopter.
