What is this station then?

They seem to be getting lots of people off the bbc (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5409696.stm) to work for them.

Can you get this station in the UK?

And also why is it so good? They seem to have more power than BBC and CNN.

It seems pretty good - wins a lot of journalism awards.

And the US government hates it cos they show what's really happening in Iraq, unlike the BBC, CNN, etc.

It used to be a free channel on sky before the war but not long after the war started it went to one you have to pay extra to get. I suspect if you watch it and then a western channel the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Thats far to sensible. You need to explain things with goodies and badies, otherwise people wont understand

al jazeera is to east what cnn is to the west, a load of opinionated shit that reports exactly what it wants its audience to believe and see.

basically its news from a different perspective and westerners are led to believe its terrorist funded and a terrorist sympathiser.

In some ruff arsed boozers round my end they have aljazeera sport for the prem matches. You can get it on some hacked dutch sky jobby, rather than pay £50 notes a month for sky sports.

Only probs is the half time analysis is in arabic.

No complaints from me!

no, tends to be chevrolet and ford adverts. Quite ironic really.

Seems american companies are quite happy to invest in advertising on a predominantly muslim network.

Whether AJ is biased or not, it's a quality news channel. Fox doesn't deserve the word "News" - it's a non-stop right-wing propaganda service.

Do you ever watch the Daily Show from Jon Stewart? It's an American satirical programme and they rip the piss out of Fox. It's on More4 every night at 8:30.

Yesterday's was especially funny as they showed Fox trying to make out that Clinton/Lewinski was worse than that Republican bloke who's been chasing young boys.

I hate Fox. Every now and then I have to put it on here if there is an American story nobody is covering over like with the Amish shooting (my family are from that area so I had extra interest) they were the only channel covering some press conferences. However, it is when I go back home and my dad is watching it nearlt 24/7 that I feel like kicking in the tv. Especially when O'Riley is on and saying what he spouts is fact when it is clearly a commentary show.

Fox News started the year after I left the States and I really do classify this new generation as the Fox News generation.
