Ok, there's a lot of questions in this but all to do with the big picture :)

If you had a chance to buy into an established Adult web site then would you ? or have you ? or do you think it's more cost effective to simply start a new site from scratch ?

If you had the chance to sell a piece of your existing activities then would you ? have you ? or do you want to keep it all to yourself as you see no point in giving away a piece of the Pie ?

Do Adult web sites have a real monatary worth ? Are they sellable ? Are there brokers out there that introduce / negotiate in this arena ? or is it all by word of mouth ?

Looking at the big piccture what's your exit strategy, if any ?

I imagine a lot of people on here enjoy their "Job" the lifestyle it affords them, flexible hours, no arsehole boss breathing down your throat, etc,etc but for how long will you go on ? Do you envisage you will do this forever ? or get out at some point ? or do you not really think along these lines & work away & think about the future when it happens ?

I personally see myself as a business man and make any money where I see the possibility. It just happens that a lot of my income now comes from adult promotions.

I believe most businesses are worth about 2-3 times their annual profit all things being equal - adult included. But I'm not certain. Can you make a potential buyer believe in your site/business enough to take on the risk that they will be out of pocket for 2-3 years and give them confidence that they can run it sucessfully like you have.

If the chance came to sell for big money then take it, personally I would never buy into anything adult related on the Internet if it relied on search engine traffic. If you are a porn star like Jenna Jameson and you have your own site then that is different.

The minute you think your onto a winner a law change or a google update and change in algorhythm wipes it from under your feet.

A personal example: I had a cheque from one adult telephone sponsor in one month (Feb 2006) for just over 2k. The very next week the telephone regulators decided that ALL telephone premium rate lines had to be on 09 numbers. I had just made a killing on a reverse billing 08 number for mobile phones and regulators decided to close this source of revenue.

The day I received the cheque, my web site was worth £24k a year. One week later it is now worth around £3,600. If I had been offered £24k to buy it off me back then I would have said no, now I would bite their hand off.

I also hear of too many webmasters like myself who rely totally on search engine traffic, we all know too well that in under 24 hours you can go from Googles best buddy to the deepened depths. It used to be different because traffic was spread between 3 maybe 4 search engines but today if your not found on google your not worth your salt.
