Firstly, thanks everyone for your warm welcome to the board, I think I may have found my new home :)

I've been advised to get myself a Skype system; can anyone advise a decent one? Possibly one both with a handset and handsfree (not an earpiece)

Is it just sound or do they do sound and vision too?

Go to Tesco.

Buy the Tesco internet phone.

Do not use the tesco softwear.

Go to Skype. Download there free softwear for the phone.

Bingo, cheap phone but a very good quality one.

Is vonage.co.uk not quite a bit cheaper ?

For £7.99 per month you get unlimited phone calls to any land lines in the UK and you can phone any mobiles in the UK for 15p during the day, 10p at night and 5p at the weekend.

I decided to go for :-

The main thing I like is the hands free option. Plus... becasue I've got a 3G card on my laptop, I reckon I can sit in my local with a setup like an office and make calls from there ;) might look a little strange that's for sure!
