for those of you in the Yorkshhire / Lincs area a programme on BBC1 next week called Inside Out asks if Leeds is building the future slum city.

They are looking at all the city living appartments being slung up,

Just wanted to let you know I know DVT lives in Leeds and few others here live in or around Leeds. From what I know they are ref to the appartments built on the post office site near the main station.

New?

well taking into account it was up until this point being branded around as the fastest growing city with modern feel then yes.

I lived there, I found it to be better then London though was not keen on the entire ccity centre being surrounded by council houses.

Do you remember Leeds in the 70s?

I used to go in the 80's and it was a real dump then, it is a bit better but I can see why people there have the concerns over the new developments

I am just popping out to get my car (it passed its mot, yippee, so i am legal again).

In Leeds they are building lots of flats. Some look nice that look over the river. In fact if you worked in Leeds it would be a nice place to be.

But they are also bilding them all over the center. In some horrid places.

Leeds city center itself is shutting down as all the shops moved to white rose center. White rose is full 7 days a week.

Anyway, half of leeds is nasty. Such as seacroft, crossgates, beeston and so on.

Chappletown traditionaly was always said to be a bad area, but to be honest I like it. Its friendly.

I am lucky as I am not realy in Leeds. Basicly in between leeds and otley.

One problem with leeds is the council which i feel is a wast of space. However manchester council seems to do a lot. I think they claim to have the cleanest streets.

The white rose centre is tiny, as for chappletown, the houses there are stunning it just Harehills that screws things up.

Except when they're running with blood...

I think it was Manchester who started the city centre apartment boom - now we have the highest apartment block in Europe, which looks like a piece of crap, even though the penthouse was a few million and now the architect fella has bagsied it to live in and design more crappy looking skyscrapers...

Have you seen K1 in Leeds - they knocked down an old 60 office block and put up what looks like another office block though charged people a fortune to live there :-(

BTW they knocked down a perfectly good brothel and built these for the spotty fuckers who have A Levels and come to leeds to study

has to be the worst development I have ever seen in my life!
