I have noticed a movement in the right direction - Will be happier when it gets back to its former value, tho.

The banks are 'buying' the USD @ 1.91 - the prices you are quoting I think are the 'sell' prices. :-(

I had some dollar cheques clearing today as follows:

996 USD@1.7763 GBP
9.00 PEOC736043 TFR

£1 = $1.7763
£9 fee

I use http://www.x-rates.com for info, today their graph shows c. $1.75 to the £1

Trading today at 1.735

Natwest converted my CCBill wire at 1.77 on Tuesday, not bad at all considering it was still in the 1.90's at Christmas :)
