View Full Version : Help! Copyright Infringement.
Another website which allows members of the site to post photos has some of my content on their site. My copyright notice has been removed and this site now has their own copyright notice on the photos.
I've e-mailed the site twice now telling them those photos are my copyright and if they want to display them on their site they need to change the copyright line to my site. I've had no reply to these e-mails.
Anybody know what I can do next to either force them to change the copyright notice or have my photos removed?
have you contacted their hoster about this?
i mean, nasty people would just image source them. that's what i hear anyway.
No I haven't. Do I just e-mail them or is there some kind of legal process I have to go through?
fire off a mail, linking to the sites with the stolen content, linking to your sites with the original content, point out the copyright violation, preferably backed up with more than just 'them are my piccies' and see if they even bother reacting. if you make enough sense, they should take the shit down.
if there is more you can pick on, like a faulty WHOIS entry by the site using your content, point that out as well.
You need to serve a DMCA on there host and billing company if they use one. I had one served on me for content I bought, You have no choice but to take it down within 24hours even if you are going to apeal in court.
To be honest the best person to talk to is Joe A hes always doing it to people, but he doesnt seem to be around these days. Anyone got a contact for him?
wouldn't that assume the offender is even touched by the DMCA in any way?

copy all of his/her site, all his/her content - the whole fucking deal. look out for any affiliate links and contact each program owner to say he/she is in breach of all their TOCS to get his/her account/s shut down pronto.
:onguard:
Funnily enough the guy has just taken the photos down now. I wonder if he reads this board?
Thanks 4 all your replies and help!
