4 out of 5 - the first half is better than the second, but it's all quality. Some awesome shots of the Tripods and sound-effects that may make some people shit themselves :D

looking forward to watching this one myself, dont normally get hyped over flicks, but I got hooked with this one due to listening to jeff waynes album when i was a kid ... by the way, pisser typing with a lisp Johny !!!

OK here it is, no lisping though

I didnt have great hopes for this film, Im not a big sci fi fan at all and think Tom Cruize is a bit of a wally.

But it got me scared (though I do scare easily). It was an OK film. But if you have seen the first one, expect about the shittiest end possible just like the original.

Just seen it, so heres my 2 pence worth ...
First of all, before I start, I havent read the book yet, but may well do so soon. My only point of reference is the jeff wayne musical lp, cd (yes I have both availiable to me) which as far as I know is a pretty good version of it.
If you havent heard this cd, then youll probably score this fiolm at about 8/10. As I have listened to this record a few times, the score from me is a 5-6/10.
Reasons ??? wrong time, wrong place, very independance day type shields, aliens ... pretty good with the story basics but skimping on some things (eg joining 2 of the characters into one, the lack of red weed action), but still fairly enjoyable.
Overall, worth watching especially if this whole war of the worlds is new to you.

All that without one lisp .. marvelouth !!!!

i have to admit, it is byeond me why anyone would spend money on watching a movie starring Tom "The Cunt" Cruise.
