those of you having enjoyed Coupling (we are talking the series here, you pervs, not the act) surely will agree it's one of the better stuff done by the BBC. we have all the DVDs and i think the minimum i've seen each episode must be around 10 times over the years.

for some reason the US market demanded a remake, or so they say. i just saw a snippet. not only do they stage it exactly the same way, up to the very moves of the actors, they also use the very same script, the same words.

what's the point of a remake if a dub over would have done? how anal can one be?

It's probably because most Americans don't believe others can be better at something than them.
Their networks treat them like idiots, and making a show with American actors will diguise the origin, Didn't they do much the same with " The Office " ?

i could understand it all if the tossers made any effort to improve it (which IMO couldn't be doen anyway) - but to simply re-run the whole setup with different "actors" - apart from it being crap, some characters like Jeff cannot work with an merkin accent.
