Hello.
This is Rachel from uk-bukkake.com. not sure if I am welcome here or not??

Sorry if Im not.

If I am welcomed back I promise to behave and that I will be good.

I know everyone here are brilliant webmasters and I would like to join in.

Been through a VERY rough time, have split up with my fiance and just about to move out into a new place.
Anyway, I am now running the site and everything solo bymyself.

I will now have to sort out banking etc, just about to contact ccbill and have the name on the cheque changed to me. But I will now also have to set up a new bank account. Which I know will have to be a business account to accept dollar cheques wont it?
Any suggestions as to which banks give the best rates etc? Currently we use Lloyds TSB but I have a personal account with Natwest, are Natwest any good at taking $ checks?

Anyway, I wont go on just in case this gets deleted.

BORRRING!!!!!

Anyhow, we have natwest accounts (personal ones) and they're as good as any at dealing with dollar cheques - they usually cash pretty quickly and they're not overly expensive.

So I dont need a business account?
Do you pay per check or per bundle that you pay in?

Sorry to sound thick but the ex used to take care of all that stuff so Im a little lost at the moment!

If your running a business, best to get a biz account.
From other threads, LLoyds seem to be prob the best.
£8 fee for any amount of chq's or $5 (i think) for amounts under $100.

And i should point out that US chqs usually clear as fast as UK chq does :)

Thanks Matt

I will go in to Natwest and Lloyds and have a chat with them. It would be easier with natwest as I have personal accounts with them and I could access everything online then and transfer money over etc.

I am running it as a business so yeah I agree a biz account is best. Just need to think of a new business name now!

Hold on Guys - I'm an accountant who used to work for a bank. Does that make me a wanker who likes to watch himself in the mirror ( on second thoughts don't answer that)

I'm surprised no one has suggested opening a US$ account there in the UK as part of your regular bank acct.

You pay US$ checks in and transer to your other accounts as and when you want. You pay no commission and move the money across when the exchange rate is good :) These have fees from $50-100 a year to run, but that's saved easily without a commission fee to pay etc.

I have one with Barclays just usually pay in my smaller cheques and move them across a couple of times a year.

Only prob with a US account is that theres no "online" option available and i have to ring them to move any money or check my balance :(

I use Natwest £10.00 per bundle and clear in 3-4 days, just throw them into a Natwest deposit envelope every month and pop them in the quick cash deposit safe they have inside the branch (Fuck all that queuing and strange looks)

Welcome back ? never new you had left, must have been before my time

So you need help and have the front to come to the place that gave you some really good advice and improved your site for you and probably got you some decent affiliates becuase of it, only to have you whinge and moan, throw your toys out of the pram and leave :wank2:

So maybe this ain't such a bad place after all ay?:Penis

By the way, its best to pay a few usa dollar checks in at once as then you only pay a single charge.

As a rule I never pay in less than $100.

Some banks can also take up to 4 weeks to clear dollor checks.

If you earn enough, its cheaper and quicker to simply wire the cash direct to your bank.

Sorry to hear of your changes in circumstance

I have not read the entire thread though if you are looking for ways to bank your payments from CCBill and other payments in USD then Lloyds or Barclays cash items at 7.50 per batch.

ie if you have several chqs or just one they will clear it and pay it into your account in GBP less 7.50

Strictly speaking you do not need a business account to cash USD / American issued chqs

The fees are based on total value - It's 7.50 upto about 10K usd then they charge on % babsis - but you are right a personal account is sound and dead simple to set up.

Thats better than Lloyds then where you have to fill in a form every time that no one there ever knows anything about!
Do you have to sign all the back of the checks still?

Just get them to give you a handfull of forms, fill them in at home and post them off to Int centre :)

you should fill a form in which take all of 5 mins, its an important document as if chqs disappear or get lost you have a stamped record and the branch have a copy of each and every chq.

You also if you want to can simply post it to their foreign chq department which I do not do as I want a bank stamp on a form.

My llloyds were shite with the form to begin with so I went to the customer service desk and explained the issues I had, the staff were given training on it and since have never had an issue :-)

Only ever filled in one form some years back, yeah you still need to sign them on the back with your full name ! Fred Bloggs not F. Bloggs, American signatures require full name no initials etc..
