Really...Really...REALLY was NOT looking forward to that weekend...pressganged into going to the Wickerman festival in SW Scotland. by the family...
Its now Monday morning and whilst i am glad to be back at work..the weekend was fantastic...some great bands... (for those that remember) The Blockheads, The Ramone (one one left) and the sensational Alex Harvey Band who were brilliant. add that to Hot sunny weather, loads to drink, 3 happy kids, a 16 year old daughter who was in the dance tent till 5am two nights running.. (one with us i have to add).. and even more amazing (well for that part of Scotland which is known for its drunken violence) not one fight, scuffle or even a cross word anywhere..
some bands were a awfull, the Alarm did 68 guns three times (badly) the Animals were awfull considering how long they have been playing that shit ...I have heard house of the rising sun played many times by amatuer guitarists,, but never that badly.
and to finish off a spectacular finale to the event the, very moving burning of a 35ft Wickerman in the night sky..
keep an eye on this event it is a real alternative to the now over commercialised Glastonbury I hope it doesnt go the same way.
How about a adult webmaster meeting there next year??
