Oh shit... I had a pic sleeve demo of their first single Arnold Layne from g-d knows when in the 60's...

It's a shame as he had so much potential...

And as I'm the only one here old enough to remember that far back, I doubt there'll be other replies :)

I'm a sprightly early 40s. I picked up the Relics tape from the Woolies bargain bin sometime in the 70s for 99p, which included the Arnold Layne track. I last saw them play in Wembley Stadium, 1986. Fell asleep during the laser display.

I knew that would draw all the old farts like me out..

not a Pink Floyd fan at all really but i do love dark side of the moon. I bought someone a signed copy of their last book and when i was last in Pompei i marveled at the fact they played live there...

so not a fan at all really just sad when someone so talented doesn't realise those talents

they showed his house on local news here where he lived for 30 odd years.. just a normal council semi.....

hehe yes ive heard of them and ive heard their music of course i have, i just dont know their names or what they look like. My dad used to listen to them a bit when i was younger so i know a few of their tracks but thats it. I do listen to 'older' music but pink floyd just havnt been a band ive known or liked very well. but like i said may the guy rest in peace!

This old mans memory is now coming back....

In 67/68 there was an all night love in at Alexandra Palace with them, Crazy World of Arthur Brown and I can't remember anyone else... LOL.

I do remember that we walked out when Floyd had been on for about 15 mins, as they weren't playing music but experimental noise, for want of better wording :)

Us old boys should have a forum of our own, where we can talk about our favourite Real Ale, and the state of the youth today, smoke pipes and nod off around 9.30 at night :sleepy:
