Are the James Bond films now out of date
There was a time when the Bond films were great.
But now the gadgets look daft. Most you can probably buy now.
Lets face it, you can buy a laser pen for £20. Although its no use at threatening an entire nation with destruction with one (well it did not work for me).
Even the new films, the gadgets no longer excite. In the last film the car could turn invisible, it just felt desperate.
With the cold war over, there are no real super enemies. The most scary thing the Russians send to us now is there wacky pop bands (remember those so called lesbian teenagers band?).
In the 60's, 70's and 80's it was sexy, but now its getting dull.
Now it just seems like an advert, often for BMW.
I used to like the naughty humour of Roger Moor. Of course some silly people prefer the Scottish one, although these tend to be old folk.
That said, there have been some good bits, such as the car going underwater.
And of course, like all modern trends, they have now made the last few political correct. How dull. Why do film makers and TV makers think that everything must be made politically correct. They did it with Dr Who and lost a lot of its kick. Then they wonder why no one watches.
In truth, I used to want the bad guys to win. I would sit in glee hoping for major destruction.
And how did Jaws make it down from the space station? Surly it would have burnt up. And how did that chap manage to buy 6 space shuttles and build a complete space station without anyone questioning it? It would have cost billions. It would have been much easer to build a giant dome then set off his chemical warfare.
All the badies all seemed to be billionaires. I never understood why they ever bothered to threaten the world with weapons. All they had to do was buy more businesses.
And what sort of spy uses his real name. Hello my name is James Bond I am a businessman. What a surprise, all the badies soon found out who he was.
