Saying it would be morally justifiable for Tony Blair to be assasinated by a suicide bomber - even if later he said he wasn't saying for it to happen - is just a bit dumb. Once a US Senator (the infamous Jesse Helmes) said that if President Clinton came to his town he should bring his body guard and he had a visit from the Secret Service.

Well actually i would imagine the Iraqi people still think we are at war so why not.. We did it to them

but it would be morally justifiable to send troops and take our country because we have WMD. Then catch Blair in a hole somewhere and arrest him and put him on trail for .....well just for forcing Madelson and Cherie on the UK would be enough

I can understand what he might have been saying in the way that I can try to see things from the point of view of a suicide bomber. However, I also understand having to be careful of how I say things if I was a public figure and who I said it to.

your absolutly right diplomacy must prevail. and public figures should watch what they say

but what we did to that country is a far greater crime against humanity that a few small "token" devices set off on Londons Buses and Tubes

We should think ourselves lucky its not far worse

To be honest I have such mixed feelings about Iraq. Most of which come from not being upset that Saddam isn't there anymore mixed with my personal distrust of Bush in particular.

I liked the way that George Galloway handled himself in the US hearing but he seems to have turned into a bit of a prick since coming back. I think he could be a bit of a one trick pony and most people see him as a bit of a sad joke again.

I think Galloway has a point. I'm against ANYONEs murder (even El Presidente Blair), but if you were an Iraqi who had the shit bombed out of your home, killing your family, you might well believe killing Tony Blair would be justifiable.

Also, knowing the British press I'm sure he was quoted out of context although I haven't read the interview.

For a savvy bloke (which he clearly is), going on BB was very naive.

As far as the Muslim vote goes though - he did get a lot of support from Muslims in his area, but (as the press usually fails to point out) the hardline fundamentalists in East London opposed him and called on Muslims to boycott the election altogether. He had a few run-ins with Muslim religious nuts, who were very opposed to his socialist ideas.
