I hate the Royal Family. What a waste of cash.
Why are people such losers that they feel the need to grovel at this bunch of twats feet.
They should turn all the royal houses into old peoples homes, and use that 37 million to look after the old folks.

Why is it when people have no decent argument they say about old people, children and the disabled?
Firstly 37million is fuck all, after the government and cival service got there hands on it it would about ad up to a can of beans. Its less than was spent on the Crazy frog advert
Who would you rather have as head of state? A voted for President like France and America? You want another set of elections? Or dont you want a seperate head of state and head of government?
Maybe we should just give up all our heritage and finally all become a state of Europe. Let the French take more billions from us to give to their Farmers

I like most of the Royals, not the hangers on. 37 million well spent.
One of the things me and the wife always argue about she can't stand the royals also :onguard:

Im pro royal myself. They bring in a shedload in tourist revenue as well.

People dont come from Japan just to go to york :takethat: They may ad that as part of their package, two weeks here and one day in york, well a very small minority might. They come to London and part of that is the royal family. We would loose alot of our tourist trade to other European countries without the royals

The Royals cost us 61p each a year aparrently. I'm withholding 61p from my end of year tax bill and giving it to a homeless person.
And think about it - President Blair... I mean do you REALLY want that?

That's what bugs me.
Its the fact that we have homeless and elderly living in poverty.
I see no reason why these people simply live in the B Palace in London, they do not need the rest.

Your very naive. People are not poor in this country because we dont have the money, infact people are not poor in any country because the world doesnt have the money.
£37million is fuck all for a head of state, its a drop in the ocean and wouldnt make any difference to anyone.
Besides with or without the royals, you still need a head of state, there wouldnt be a $37mill saving. Heads of states are not cheap
Plus the royals make a ton back from tourism, its the impression they create, its one of the reasons people come here. I wonder how many people go to France to see their president or the US to see Bush?
So all in all they are a very cost effective head of state, without having another annoying election to put up with every 4 years
