"60 years" seems a bit steep for his alleged crime. Unless of course there really is something "they" want to keep him quiet about.

I agree about the "60 years" bit, but I saw an interview with this chap on tv, and he came across as guilty as hell. I strongly suspect this BS about ufo's is just a desperate defense, and possibly for some publicity.

I think X-cite they can - the test as far as I know is where is the business substantially run from. Thus being hosted in the US doesnt protect you from UK laws if you live in the UK.
What worries me more is that the US these days can extradite UK citizens on not much more than hearsay and you would stand trial in a US court. Under the old system to be extradited the US would have to show reasonable grounds before a UK judge. These days pretty much all they have to do is ask for your ass and you can be on a flight to the land of the free (sic ).
The Anglo American agreement on extradition was supposed to be a two way street and only used for terorists - to date quite a few brits have found themselves in the US on charges which are far removed from terrorism. The US has never ratified the treaty so the UK doesnt have the same rights to get extradition on US citizens.
Boris Johnson was campaigning about this but since his demise I havent seen much about it - conspiracy theories abound.
